We honor The Dayton Foundation and The Brighter Tomorrow Foundation for funding support for the purchase of an in-house generator for our Wendhaven home that serves four people with autism and The Brighter Tomorrow Foundation for a grant to help purchase furniture and carpeting for some of our homes.
Our Silver Anniversary - Home - Family - Community
It's 1985 and we pay $1.09 a gallon when we fill up our gas tanks; we put a 22 cent stamp on our mail; tecnology takes giant leaps forward with the release of the first version of Windows and the registration of the first .com domain name. Ronald Reagan is president and The Cosby Show is one of our favorite television shows.
It's 1985 and a change in state rules and regulations results in changes in the provision of residential services in Ohio. In Montgomery County, what was then called the Montgomery County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities "spun off" their three homes, resulting in the founding of Choices In Community Living, Inc. Today CICL continues serving people with developmental disabilities in our first three homes, Olive Road, Heatherton and Sheehan, in addition to homes throughout Montgomery, Clark, Madison and Preble counties.
Join us during the year as we celebrate our theme of Home - Family - Community. We welcome your stories and memories from our first 25 years.
